Alexa Sheehan is from Wausau, Wisconsin and attended Tulane University, obtaining her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology. She was the recipient of the Children's Tumor Foundation Young Investigator Award in 2023. Alexa studies the microenvironment of MPNSTs and how it can be targeted to improve outcomes for patients. Her specific project focuses on infiltrating immunosuppressive cells in MPNSTs and remodeling of the extracellular matrix to facilitate metastasis. In her free time, Alexa likes to read, watch live sports, and have game nights with friends.
